4th March 2006 - Sokheng, Humble and Excellence visited TRN’s Grassroot Innovation Network in Burriram Province to learn of the latest agro-economic technology and systems being implemented in Thailand.
TRN is a network of young social entrepreneurs who have come together to pool their expertise to assist in the sustainable development of rural communities. ICT and partnerships are used in their projects and one of the areas that they work on is the development of agro-economic systems.
Sokheng, Humble and Excellence learned the technologies that have been developed by TRN and are currently being used by farmers in rural communities. The system of managing agricultural economy in rural communities considers cost effectiveness, long-term sustainability and environmental protection.
Class sessions and practical farming experience were conducted to learn and understand the knowledge based agricultural methods and to discuss the current agricultural problems that rural communities face. The ICTs used were explained to them and they were given first hand experience to use this knowledge based agricultural technologies.
Sokheng, Humble and Excellence see possibilities of adopting what they have learnt from TRN for the future implementation of agro-economic systems in Cambodia and in other countries. Humble is especially excited to see this develop in Cambodian rural communities.
