SOLS 24/7 Background

SOLS 24/7 is a Non Governmental, Non Religious Organization that provides a unique Education program with boarding facilities for free to underprivileged youths.

SOLS 24/7 was founded in January 2000, in Cambodia.

Living in the shadow of Poverty

The advances in science and technology since the industrial revolution have ushered in a modern world of convenience. It is present in our colored televisions, cooking appliances and air-conditioning equipment in our homes, the public transportation system such as the train making the commute to work easier, to the sleek and handy mobile phone that make communication possible between two people miles apart. But in spite of these breakthroughs and conveniences, billions of people are not as fortunate to enjoy these conveniences; however, they struggle to survive day by day. They are denied basic social services and have no access to proper education. They are unskilled to help themselves live in dignity. Without help and support, the poor continue to live in the shadow of emerging and fast developing economies.

These contradictions have moved M. Singh, a certified lecturer of mind sciences and a dedicated social worker and organizer of various NGOs, for 26 years to the find answers on creating a program to effectively train & develop the poor to create meaning lives for themselves. He is authoring a book called Science of Life Systems 24/7 to help youths in poor countries develop their 5 areas of life (Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Mental & Spiritual) to live a better life. The book will help youths in developed & developing countries to overcome social problems as well as find direction and achieve their full potential. He also authored Motivation for the masses in 1994 and Formula & Practice, an effective English learning.

SOLS 24/7 Cambodia students

With the creation of SOLS 24/7 and the Leadership Character Development Institute in 2000, it piloted the learning modules to disadvantaged Cambodian youths. In 2005, SOLS 24/7 set up the Grassroots Development Institute (GDI), a local Cambodian NGO, to continue the success of the program. Graduates of the learning modules, close to a 100 percent of the participants, have now secured a job in the public or private sector.

SOLS 24/7 has expanded its operations to Timor Leste (2006), Malaysia (2007), Laos (early 2010), Japan (late 2010) and Singapore (2011).
