Flexible Internship

Application form                                               Internship rules                                                    Testimonials

Flexible internships are a good way to pickup the necessary skills and experience in a chosen field, while still having the opportunity to explore new areas. A Finance & Administration intern might want to get more involved with the social side to SOLS 24/7 and decide to try doing some teaching. Perhaps they would dedicate a few hours out of the week to be involved in the school accounting program.

Flexible internships allow participants to work in more than one department and build on a greater variety of skills. An intern, who is skilled in Computing & ICT and also Graphic & Web Design, doesn’t have to choose between the two. With a flexible internship they can divide their time between two or more areas, or focus specifically on one area.

Interns on this program must also be flexible themselves and consider the needs of SOLS 24/7 at the time of the internship. There may be a few weeks where the school is closed for holidays and teaching won’t be possible. There might be a month where there is a lot of admin work, but not much graphic designing needed. Interns should specify in their covering letter which areas they would like to be involved in. They should take into account that for shorter internships it is not advisable to choose more than two areas of work, as many projects will require a high level of commitment.
