What are the Community Centres?

Made possible through a partnership between SOLS 24/7 Malaysia, the Better Malaysia Foundation and the Berjaya Cares Foundation, the aim is to bring free education to Malaysia’s underserved communities by establishing community education centres throughout the country.

Each community centre is managed by Community Centre Managers (CCM) who live in the local community for one to two years. Through the Berjaya Community Centres, CCMs provide free English, computer, leadership and character building classes to underserved people.

The Community Centres also serve as a nationwide network, enabling Corporate Social Responsibility, disaster relief and awareness programs to reach a large audience easily and effectively.

Our Methodology

The Community Centres aim to help students speak English by focusing on “how” to speak rather than “what” to speak.

Using our unique methodology, Community Centre teachers maximize class time through practice sessions, where students learn to speak, listen, read, write, spell and understand languages quickly.

Theory takes up less than 10% of a teacher’s time, allowing more focus on improving student’s ability.
