How does it work?
There are five main steps:
Corporations, Companies, Government Agencies and Individuals can donate their old computers to us while they are upgrading their computers.
1) Donation
Corporations, Companies, Government Agencies and Individuals can help the poor by donating their old PCs to us while they are upgrading their computers. Most old PCs are still in a reasonable condition and can easily be given a second life after going through a refurbishment process. The benefits for the donor are twofold: you make someone else happy by donating your old PC while you also get the benefits of reducing your electronic waste and environmental footprint.
2) Refurbishment
As an official Microsoft Registered Refurbisher we are specialized in the refurbishment of PCs. Our refurbishing process follows the Microsoft standards to secure privacy. All our refurbished PCs will be pre-installed with Microsoft software (Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2007).
3) Distribution
We deliver free of charge to charitable organizations (like Orphanages, Old folks Homes, poor NGOs, Community Projects). Our particular focus is on organizations in the more secluded areas of Malaysia.
4) Installation & Training
A certified SOLS 24/7 Computer trainer will install the PCs and provide training to the trainers and teachers of the recipient party. The training is a one week training which includes hard ware- and soft ware training. The study materials will be provided by SOLS Computers.
5) Self-sustainable
To be able to run the operations and to remain self-sustainable, we sell 5-10% of the donated PCs for a very low price. This will cover our operation- and distribution costs and make us able to continue to donate 90-95% of all computers for free.
