What do I need?

Essential Experience

  • At least 5-10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree level qualification in Human Resources or equivalent;
  • Demonstrable understanding of labour law, employment act, and industrial laws of Malaysia;
  • High proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required;
  • Familiarity with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office or Google Suite.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies and systems;
  • Proven ability to build, manage, and develop recruitment and retainment strategies;
  • Effective dissemination of information to large and diverse groups.

What will I do?

Key Metric #1 - Administration of HR programs and employee standards and procedures

How success is measured:

  • Sets the vision and overall strategic plan for SOLS 24/7 HR Team;
  • Leads the retention and development strategy as a means of creating a retention culture for talent;
  • Integration and collaboration with senior leadership and programme teams to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention;
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures;
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management;
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; visa management, disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

How success is measured:

  • Leads the employee benefit programme, overseeing the benefits packages provided;
  • Creates a positive work environment in collaboration with team leads;
  • Ensures there is a clear escalation channel procedure and employees are well versed in the process;
  • Proactively engages in effective, consistent measuring of employee satisfaction as well as providing analysis of responses;
  • Leads the adherence of Occupational Health and Safety standards to maintain zero workplace accidents;
  • Leads the safeguarding training and efforts for the team;
  • Provides regular feedback to employees on their performance in order to help them improve their skills and meet organisation goals.

Key Metric #3 - Recruitment & Retention

How success is measured:

  • Manages the updating current and designing new recruitment procedures,
  • Reviews of sourcing methods and suggest best option for organisation needs;
  • Strategically identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management;
  • Trains and advises hiring managers on interviewing techniques;
  • Keeps track of recruiting metrics, including but not limited to average recruitment time, recruitment conversion rate, monitoring salary competitiveness based on market data, recruitment and training costs);
  • Conducts exit interviews with departing employees to identify ways to improve retention rate.

Key Metric #4 - Training

How success is measured:

  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs;
  • Collaborates with supervisors to ensure new employees are provided support and clear guidance during their initial months, including feedback during review sessions;
  • Assists in training managers in effective methods to coach supervise their team;
  • Reviews employee performance records to identify skill and knowledge gaps and organise training for relevant team members.

How success is measured:

  • Contributes as a senior leader to building organisational culture and strategic decision making;
  • Cultivates close relationships with the Programme teams to understand campaigns, tactics, goals, projects, and align on how engagement can support these to ensure that HR inputs are integrated effectively;
  • Is an active member of internal project teams and assume responsibilities as appropriate;
  • Advises senior management on the projection of talent requirement and the viability of recruitment and/or retainment to support campaign initiatives;
  • Attends any finance committee meetings to report and give advice on HR matters if required.

Key Metric #6 - Staff Management

How success is measured:

  • Agrees to team objectives and work plans;
  • Manages workload and performance through regular one-to-one line management discussions;
  • Plans and implements personal development programme for team members in all relevant skills;
  • Assistss and collaborates with Programme team leads for performance reviews.
