We are offering you the opportunity to teach an underserved community knowledge and language skills that no one has been able to before. We will guide you through the process and make sure your stay will be as pleasant and fulfilling as possible.
As a Volunteer Teacher, you will gain a lot of cultural experience and knowledge in relation to the lifestyle in rural areas. The organisation provides the basic necessities for you to have a humble lifestyle but you have to be ready for the personal challenges you might meet living in a community centre area – it is a lifestyle far from the one you know. You will be immersed in the local community on a daily basis and be part of a strong team who are all dedicated to empower and help people through free education. Your mission as Volunteer Teacher (VT) is to assist the Community Centre Manager (CCM) in administering the performance of the community centre, meeting the centre objectives, and running daily classes including English, computer and life skills classes.
We will offer you a visa, 1 month of training, SOSCO and free basic accommodation. You will be applying for our community centres in Johor, Terengganu, Kedah, Selangor, Sabah & Johor.
What you should expect
As a Volunteer Teacher, you will be living in a rural area close to the locals. The company will provide the necessities for you to have a humble lifestyle but you have to be prepared and ready for the challenges you might meet living in a community centre area. You will on a daily basis be in contact with the locals commonly known the Orang Asli. You will be part of a strong team who are all dedicated to empower and help the community through free education.
- Passionate about teaching an underserved community raised in poverty;
- You are dedicated to influencing a community through educational classes;
- Enthusiastic about creating a positive learning environment that caters to the beneficiaries needs;
- You are ready to assist and cooperate closely with your Community Centre Manager;
- Good administrative & organizational skills.
4-6 hours daily
- Assist in teaching;
- Assisting in classroom management.
2-4 hours daily
- Assisting with Administration and reporting;
- Community Engagement; Assisting the Community Centre Manager with any other tasks related to centre management, education and social empowerment projects;
- Participating in student recruitment; Lesson Planning for classes.
- Commit to a minimum of 6 months;
- A high proficiency in English;
- Must have a motorcycle license.
