What do I need?

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or related field
  • 5-6 years’ experience leading major fundraising campaigns
  • Previous sales or fundraising experience preferred.
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality, and age sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Efficient multitasking, prioritizing tasks, considering special assignments, interruptions, and deadlines.
  • Establishes, builds, and maintains effective working relationships with staff for support.
  • Knowledgeable in community work, impact organizations, fundraising, and education preferred.
  • Ability to lead new system implementations, work collaboratively, and autonomously in-person and remotely.
  • Approaches work with a positive, constructive attitude, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Open to feedback, adaptable to change, and capable of managing complexities.
  • Work experience in impact organizations or non-profits is an advantage.
  • Genuine empathy for the needs of the less privileged, with a strong understanding of poverty issues in Malaysia a plus.

What will I do?

In this role you will:

  • Execute a diverse fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals for program sustainability.
  • Identify funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships aligning with the nonprofit's mission, staying updated on industry trends.
  • Lead the creation of impactful funding proposals, articulating the organization's impact and alignment with donor priorities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and new supporters to expand the organization's network.
  • Implement effective donor stewardship for ongoing engagement and recognition, developing personalized plans for key donors.
  • Lead and manage a fundraising team, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments for integrated fundraising initiatives with organizational campaigns.
  • Manage and monitor fundraising budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and expense tracking.
  • Establish KPIs to evaluate fundraising success, regularly assessing and reporting results, and adjusting strategies as needed.
