Joel holds four things close to his heart: programming, gaming, minimalism, and music. After completing his computer science degree in U.S., he watched a documentary on Netflix called “Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things”. Little did he know that this documentary would change his life. The next day, after watching the documentary, Joel donated 90% of his belongings to donation centres.
Then came the important question, what’s next in Joel’s new life? Further digging into minimalism led Joel to believe that he had the potential to do great things not only for himself, but for others as well. He found his true calling when he learnt about hackathons that were held on a global scale for programmers to build programs that could offer genuine aid to natural disaster victims.
Since then, Joel has made it his long term goal to build a revolutionary program that is able predict natural disasters even before they happen, or to end world hunger, and what better way to start that journey here at SOLS 24/7.
